Pashupati is located on the banks of the Bagmati river, 5km northeast of Kathmandu in the eastern part of Kathmandu valley. The temple was created in the 5th century by Licchavi king Prachanda dev. The main temple {shiva} is built in the Nepalese pagoda style of architectural with golden gajur. There is 492 temples are found at Pashupati area.
Pashupati temple listated as the world hereatage by UNESCO since 1979. It is the oldest temple of Nepal. It is an excellent example of the culture and creativity. Right front of temple sit a cover statue of Nandi the bahn of loard shiva. Pashupati was covered 264 hectar of land starch of both side by bagmati river. There is 15 shivalayes and 17 jyotirlinga. Pashupati temple has been presurve and maintain by the “pashupati area development trust.” The pashupati river also famous of dead body burned at the side of bagmati river.
The pashupati temple is the one of the best place for the visitor.
